Another 10 months to go….
Then we’ll be there in slick cycling outfits on Mauna Kea Access Road on Big Island, Hawai. At the foot of the mythical Mauna Kea climb.
Hard to imagine when you consider that it is now more like a lunar landscape shrouded in snow.

Are we really going to climb this huge volcanic crater?
The mountain waits patiently and undisturbed for our coming. But that does not apply to us. We have to keep on track!

WHILE WORKING TOWARDS OUR JOINT GOAL, IT’S IMPORTANT TO KEEP TRACK OF EVERYONE’S PROGRESS.

In the past our actions were sometimes fueled and driven by an assumption or a gut feeling. Measuring is (the first step to) knowing! That’s why we did the Wattbiketest and set (sub) goals.

But what to measure in between? And what impact does it have on our dedication? A surfeit of unvalidated information generates nothing but chaos.

However we are all equipped with gadgets such as Garmin, Kickr and Tacx the question remains: where are we? Is our data suitable to bring into the open?
Off course, because there is no way back. The road to Mauna Kea is irreversible.
So that’s why we introduce our Strava group and share our data!

TO INTERPRETATE THIS DATA, WE HAVE ANALYZED IT THOROUGHLY:

Descriptive: what happened?
Diagnostic: why did it happen?
Predictive: what will happen?
Prescriptive: what should I do?
And here we have our first bottleneck…
16 particpants and only data of 8 persons… What happened???
A lack of data or would there be a datalaek?
Why did this happen?
We did some research and what turned out?
“I couldn’t recharge the data” “my internet connection wasn’t working”, “parts of my indoor hometrainer were not delivered”, “I had a flat tire and the bridge was open and by the way, I am too busy …”
The most interesting part of analysis is:
What will happen?
We are very curious! In a few weeks we expect the follow up of this data analysis.
To be continued….
